Cookie & Storage Policy
Last updated: 30 August 2026
GhostSiege currently uses browser local storage rather than first-party cookies for its own game features. “Storage” below also covers similar browser technologies. The advertising shown on GhostSiege is served by GhostSiege itself and uses no cookies and no device storage at all. The one exception is a rewarded advertisement that embeds a video or page from another provider: that provider may set its own cookies once it is loaded. That happens when you choose to watch such an advertisement — and, if the operator has enabled the corresponding setting, only after you additionally agree. A future third-party advertising network may also use cookies or other device storage, but no such network is active at this time.
Necessary storage
These entries support features requested by the player and cannot be disabled through the privacy panel. You can remove them using your browser's site-data controls, but doing so resets the associated settings or progress.
| Storage | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
gs_privacy_v1 | Remembers your privacy choices and the date they were made. | Until cleared or replaced by a newer consent version. |
gs_lang | Remembers the selected language. | Until cleared. |
gs_name, gs_hero | Remembers the chosen player name and hero. | Until cleared. |
gs_meta, gs_ach | Saves local progression, souls, upgrades and achievements. | Until cleared. |
gs_muted, gs_stats, gs_hudmin | Saves audio and interface preferences. | Until cleared. |
gs_shop_v1, gs_skins_v1 | Stores the licence key for skins and VIP that you purchased, and which skin you have equipped per hero. The licence key can be re-entered in the shop, so clearing it does not lose the purchase. | Until cleared. |
Optional analytics storage
| Storage | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
gs_pid | Random pseudonymous identifier used to associate optional visits and gameplay analytics. It is created only after analytics consent and removed from the browser when that consent is withdrawn. | Until analytics consent is withdrawn or site storage is cleared. |
gs_sid, gs_sid_ts, gs_sid_seq | Random session identifier plus the time of the last page view and a page counter. They group the pages of one visit into a single session; a gap of more than 30 minutes starts a new one. Created only after analytics consent and removed when that consent is withdrawn. | Until analytics consent is withdrawn or site storage is cleared. |
gs_attr | Where the current session came from: the referring website’s host, any campaign parameters in the link you followed and the name (never the value) of an advertising click identifier. It keeps every page of one visit attributed to the same source. Created only after analytics consent and removed when that consent is withdrawn. | Until analytics consent is withdrawn or site storage is cleared. |
Advertising storage
GhostSiege’s own advertising stores nothing on your device. Ads are requested from the GhostSiege server when a slot becomes visible and are rendered as ordinary images and text. There is no advertising cookie, no local-storage entry and no advertising identifier. Display, click and rewarded-ad counts are kept on the server, aggregated per ad and per day, and cannot be traced back to a visitor. A rewarded ad additionally creates a one-time server-side token that expires after 20 minutes; it never reaches your browser storage.
| Storage | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
gs_embed_ok_v1 | Remembers that you allowed rewarded advertisements to load embedded video or pages from other providers. It is created only after you agree and holds no identifier. | Until site storage is cleared. |
Once such an embed is loaded, the provider hosting it (for example YouTube) may set its own cookies on its own domain. Those are outside GhostSiege’s control and are described in that provider’s policy. The embed is only ever loaded after you have chosen to watch a rewarded advertisement; the entry above is created only if the operator has enabled the additional confirmation step.
No third-party advertising SDK, advertising cookie or advertising identifier is enabled. Such scripts must be gated behind the advertising choice and, where applicable, a provider-certified consent flow. This table will be updated with the provider-specific names, purposes and lifetimes before any external advertising goes live.
Change or withdraw your choice
Open to accept or reject optional analytics. The advertising choice covers external advertising networks and stays unavailable until a named provider and its required certified consent flow are configured; GhostSiege’s own cookieless ads are unaffected by it. The one-time VIP upgrade removes all advertising permanently. Rejecting optional purposes does not block the core game. You can also clear all GhostSiege storage through your browser settings; this will remove local progression and preferences as well.
